Yesterday, I used the air conditioner all day. At bedtime, my husband actually turned the heater on. And today, I’m using the AC, again! I swear, only in Utah, do you actually use the heater all morning and turn on the AC, by 5pm. I feel like my house it bipolar, going on menopausal.
Its coming, I can smell it, fall. My favorite season was summer. Now, as an adult, the AC bill changed that, real fast. Fall colors, leaves, crafts and food! The homemade rolls, soups, stews and chilis! My favorite is my easy cheesy potato soup, I could eat this everyday. Can’t be leaving out hot cocoa with marshmallows. I can already hear my children fighting over who has the “Mostest” in their cups.
It gets even better! Inside all season with your offspring, fun…right? C’mon, imagine the quality time your going to spend together, the calories you’re going to burn screaming, “Stop fighting and be quiet! I don’t care if he bit you first, we aren’t cannibals!”
I wont even mention the housework tripling, almost overnight. You’d be thin, come spring if it weren’t for all the Thanksgiving and Christmas, self-medicating, stress eating. Ah, good times.
I can hear it. “Mom, I’m Booorrrrreedddd.“ Time to stock up on some movies, taking advantage of what I like me to call, the “Cartoon Coma”, best thing evah! Just press play, feed and water ‘em occasionally and your good for about an hour. Rinse, later and repeat! – Easy peasy!
I hope one day, our almost dead baby tree out front, will be big enough to produce some leaves. I would love to see my children jumping through them, but at this point, my grandkids. I’m not going to hold my breath, it aggravates my condition to complain and that’s my most desirable feature, can’t risk it.
I did however, manage to keep a plant alive long enough to get one, YES, one green pepper from it. I had two tomato and a green pepper plant and ended up with one vegetable this season. If my children were my plants, they’d be dead, died from thirst and void of attention. I’m going to name this little trooper, Jasper. He’s definitely, not a looker, but he’s gonna taste good.
