It’s here and for everyone to see! Kadee has gotten her first tooth. Wow, has my baby grown and fast too, way faster than I recall the last two. I’m sure this is normal when your running around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying, praying to keep the faith in maintaining this household.

Anyway, two days ago, I noticed sores n Kadee’s mouth. I’m a mom of three, so you’d assume I’d know thrush when I see it, but I usually look for the trademark white tongue, which wasn’t visible.
Taking her in to the pediatrician yesterday, we received confirmation and a round of antibiotics. Poor fing doesn’t want to drink her bottle either! I’m hoping her antibiotics kick in and the pain subsides very soon. Our pedi said that her immune system was compromised when she was sick and resulted in more bad bacteria than good and thrush.

Antibiotics CAUSE thrush, they don’t cure it. Antifungals cure thrush, so I hope that’s what your Dr. gave her. Antibiotics kill the good bacteria and cause the candida to get out of control. Try a 1/2 tsp. of coconut oil in her milk. It is a good antifungal, and good for her as well. Also, a little yogurt while she’s on antibiotics wouldn’t help. Soy yogurt is best, because it has no milk sugars in it. Yeast thrive on sugar.
I know you know all of this. I’m really posting this for the ones who are reading who don’t know.
Thanks for the info, Deborah. I usually use non-sweetened yogurt that contains active bacteria for myself when experiencing those “uncomfortable and itchy issues”, but was really at a loss when it came to oral thrush. Good info. Right now, Kadee is on an anti fungal, antibiotic or is it? lol. I’m kind of concerned, its not healing as fast as I would have thought.
Yay for the tooth! Sad about thrush though
