Parenthood: Remembering to Breathe

I have a routine, but sometimes I forget it doesn’t control time and that just because I rushed through my whole day, getting the kids bathed, fed, homework done and in bed, doesn’t mean it’s all done, will ever be or that I should want it to be.

Breathe: to live; exist.

I came across this photo the other day, of my now, 6 year old, and her Daddy. It’s amazing how things change so quickly but subtle. Until you come across a photo like this and realize how much time is gone and only in memory can you still smell the lingering scent of baby lotion and hear her toddler giggle as she runs down the hall.

What a gift of a reminder, to stop going through the motions and start savoring the little things. BREATH and REALIZE, I’m rushing my days away, rushing my children’s days away. Time to stop and smell them diapers and stale Cheetos.

Just a friendly reminder: Remember to breathe.
